Effective August 1st Shareholders Service Group accounts will be charged $2.50 for the paper delivery of a statement or confirm.

Dear Shareholders Service Group Clients,

For many years, SSG has had a “paper delivery fee” on our fee schedule for mailing statements and confirms.  However, SSG has not been not been charging this fee to many client accounts.  Unfortunately, the costs for printing and mailing statements and confirms are increasing, making it difficult for SSG to continue to waive the fees.  Therefore, effective August 1^st accounts will be charged $2.50 for the paper delivery of a statement or confirm. 

If you want to avoid this fee you must sign up for Electronic delivery notifications. With this option you would log onto the SSG website to view your statements. Call me to let me know if you want to switch to electronic notifications and I will send you the required form.

I think getting your statements mailed, regular mail, is the easiest way to get your statements and confirms. Logging onto the SSG website every month is a bit of a hassle.

The required minimum distribution rules for IRAs are waived for 2020.

The bipartisan COVID-19 stimulus bill just signed by President Trump includes welcome tax relief for retirees: The required minimum distribution rules for Individual Retirement Accounts and 401(k)s are waived for 2020. That means that instead of taking money out this year, retirees can keep their investments growing.

I will call you in October to see if you want to skip your 2020 RMDs.

Just dropped in the Mail Today 2019 Folio 1099s and Form 8949s. Give these forms to your tax preparer.

1099r and 1099 forms will be available in January and February

1099r and 1099 forms will be available in late January and late February.  I will personally mail Folio forms to you as soon as I receive them. Shareholder Services Group will mail 1099 forms directly to you.

I will be going on a trip to Yuma in February or March. I will send a new blog post when I actually go. Make a note of my cell phone number, (541) 601-1241. I only use this phone when I am traveling.
